I was listening to the radio today, 850 AM in South Florida; and the host Rich Stephens was talking about the Miami Heat winning the series against the Celtics. He said that game six was fixed somehow, for the Miami Heat to win, in order to get higher ratings on the channels that the game was aired on. He said since Miami was facing elimination, many people were going to tune in to game six to watch the team go home or beat the Celtics; making the ratings higher. He said that the referees were making bad calls on purpose and that the players didn't know about the games being fixed, but that the owners were the ones in charge.
I think he is wrong, I think the games were legitimately played because what player or what team owner wants to lose? Money is a huge part of professional sports but I don't think the Heat or the Celtics wanted to lose on purpose just to make more money from the TV networks. I don't think they would scoop to that level. By the way, he went further, he said that the Oklahoma City Thunder are winning this series, not because Miami is a bad team, but because it is fixed and he sees that since the Celtics lost, Miami only won to get TV networks more ratings, and now they play OKC to get even more viewers, but will eventually lose in 7 games.
What are your thoughts? Any comments, do you agree or disagree? I am curious to hear from the audience.
It's fixed just like the timothy Bradley fight player. But they can only fix it if its close
