It seems like this season has been all about making history for the Miami Heat. First the 27-game winning streak. (2nd place in the entire history of the NBA). Now, the Heat have a chance to hold the franchise record for wins in a season. The previous Miami Heat record was 61 wins. After last night's win over the Bucks, the Heat tied that record. The team is now 61-16 for the season, top in the NBA this year. If the Heat come out on top tonight vs. the Wizards, they will have the single season franchise record at 62 wins.
This couldn't come at a better time for the team. LeBron James is playing a monster game of basketball at the moment in his career. Dwyane Wade is healing for the playoffs. Chris Bosh is a proven player and does make a difference. Bench players are stepping up when needed (Mike Miller, Ray Allen, Udonis Haslem, Chris Andersen just to name a few).
Mario Chalmers is also getting better this year, and I expect him to step up his game to another level in this post season. He is averaging 8.5 points per game and 3.5 assists per game. He is also shooting 40.8% from 3-point land, which is an improvement of almost 4% from his career stats! Again, I do expect him to have a great post season that may result in him getting his second championship ring.
Well, again, the Miami Heat have a chance of setting a new record for the franchise tonight. Let's see how they do! Remember, show some support for the Heat on twitter and let the haters keep hating. #TeamHeat #HeatNation #HeatLive
